Well, you have the wiki backing you up. Not to mention, I can see the resemblance, somewhat. It's entirely possible they were like "Let's make the boss in this level look like the Curry Monster, and have it disposed of with an canister, just like in Red Dwarf!"

"Oh, you mean just like how they kill the shark in Jaws?"

"..."

"...Let's make Anya say 'smile, you bitch', too."

Ill go with both on this one
"HEYYYYYY, Wanna be in my GAAAANG?"

The challenge Half Death in TimeSplitters 2 is a reference to the game Half-Life
TimeSplitters fan from France who worked on various fan-made TimeSplitters projects such as TimeSplitters: Silver, Bricky Monkey and the forgotten TwitchSplitters event.

So many of them I did not know of.

I just watched Citezen Kane and Blade Runner, because of this.
Might even check out Clockwork Orange by tomorrow as well.

I believe that the TimeSplitters developers referenced "Nigel ThornBerry" in their design of "Captain Ash". They both have eccentric accents and they look very similar. They are both adventurers too.

Wow so cool there is plenty of clear references that I didn't get!
As the Deerhaunter or the steamy Robot Stevenson :woohoo:

I should update this topic one day to put everything clearly on the first page, now that's the topic that I was expecting, great contribution guys B)

ASneakyGranny > It's true that I've always thought about Nigel ThornBerry when I was seeing Captain Ash speaking, or even his strong face, but I never really believed that it could be related, or it isn't a clear reference I think, no?

I discovered something very interesting when watching one of the earlier episodes of Naruto: Shippuden (anime). At one point, a giant red eye is shown in the sky to symbolize one of the character's special abilities. At the exact moment it's shown, the same sound that begins the music theme for Ice Station plays, that same harsh opening sound! As soon as I heard it in the episode, I was instantly reminded of TS2. I have a hunch that the sound used in the episode and in TimeSplitters may be in some sort of sound library that developers can choose to use if they do not wish to create their own sounds.
Wouldn't it be the day if Badass Cyborg was invited to the Badass Crater of Badassitude!?

Interestingly enough I watched an episode of A Haunting

and during a scene, in the background was playing part of the TS3 Siberia theme.. either that or that soundtrack was near IDENTICAL to a part of Siberia's theme.

I think it's very possible that the producers for A Haunting extracted the same sound(s) used in TS3 Siberia from a common source or library, similar to what I described above.

Badass Cyborg v2.0 > There are a lot of sounds in the TimeSplitters series that are from some general libraries indeed
As one of the sound of a woman who screams when she's on fire, I ve heard it in an axe add and was surpised, I was young and didn t know about banks of sound.

Oddkan - Badass Cyborg v2.0 >

Concerning the music, I don't know if it is because the serie is considered as an abandonware or if it was sell to some sound bank, but I hear sometimes music from TimeSplitters in random stuff on TV ...

I've heard '' Disco a Gogo '' on a french show on Camping, the soundtrack of the level Chicago on a cooking show, I wanted to puke

There are no credits to the composers of it ... It's as free as a random fart sound

At 0:16, I think that sounds familiar? 3:29 is the exact part.
