TOPIC: There is a serious lack of skilled shooters today

Dare I say.. Call of Duty does require skill.
But (and this is a BIG BUT).., only in certain Team Objective based modes.

I've played CoD MW1 in clan wars and it was quite challanging to get it right every other time to win the "phase" and the map overall.

There's a heavy reliance on your team mates and the co-operative play to spot enemies (that'd be enough for the next one to kill spotted ones), know the weapon choices and to have the right timing to get the job done overall.


Other than that.. it's first come, first serve - so no skill required any further. Anyone could win a (team-) deathmatch.



Quake, UT and TS games - and almost any other game with pick ups had a lot to do with map control and skill.
The one with the (better) item has higher chances to win the match, if both players are about equally skilled.

ASneakyGranny, do you say you hate CoD just in an attempt to make yourself look good?

it seems you are quite good, and you are concerned about not being considered a noob (even though I think no one called you a noob), but yet, you hate it?

so, why are you so concerned about proving you are skilled on a game you claim to hate?

well, that's obvious, the problem is that in games such as CoD, the difference of skills between the players is a far less important factor. a weapon only has to be very slightly stronger than all other weapons to be called overpowered or cheated, whereas in the other games you named, it would hardly give an advantage.

CoD is totally rubbish .

The reason I hate CoD Fauch is because they make you pay £60 for a game that got hacked on the first day, had the worst starter maps from any CoD game, the maps are over sized like hell meaning that people can camp to their hearts content. I don't say I hate CoD to make myself look good, just stating that over the years cod has went from being somewhat fun and enjoyable to total garbage. If you look at the sales figures on the last Call of Duty game then you'll see that the profits have went dramatically downhill. Give it 3 years and no-one will remember what Cock of Doody is.
